How to start

Results, acceptance and history

Review the full job before updating records or issuing work instructions.

Read the layout and summaries together

For a practice run, check the layouts and piece quantities before deciding whether to accept the result or update records. Select the result you want to inspect. Below its layout preview, the first tab shows the piece list; the other tabs summarize stock, projects, materials and edge bands. Used and remaining piece quantities mean placed and unplaced in this plan, not pieces already made or still waiting to be made.

  1. Select a layout and inspect piece orientation, labels, dimensions and cutting sequence.

  2. Below the layout preview, open the first tab with the piece list and check the used and remaining quantities.

  3. Compare the stock, material, project and edge-band totals with the requirements of the job.

  4. Inspect reusable offcuts and confirm they meet your recovery policy.

  5. Choose the result you want to retain before opening acceptance, printing or export.

Check what acceptance will change

When stock updates are enabled, the acceptance dialog offers saving the result, updating projects, updating stock and adding reusable offcuts to stock. Some options depend on saving the result and updating projects. Give a saved result a meaningful name.

  1. Select the intended result and click Accept result on its toolbar.

  2. To retain the result in history, enable saving and enter a meaningful, nonempty name.

  3. With stock updates enabled, select only the updates intended for this job.

To update projects, you must save the result. To update stock, you must also update projects. Adding reusable offcuts requires all of these choices and a result that contains reusable offcuts.

  4. If stock updates are off, check separately what will be deleted and which files will be saved.

  5. Confirm acceptance, or use Cancel to leave it unconfirmed.

Before confirming, check quantities and the scope of updates or deletions.

The example shows saving the result without updating projects or stock.

  6. If you saved the result, close its preview if it is still open. In the main window, open the Results tab and check its name and update status.

  7. If project or stock updates were applied, inspect the quantities in the affected lists.

Return to a saved calculation

Open saved results from the history list. You can calculate a plan again from a saved result. Some results also let you undo their changes to project and stock records. Before doing so, check the result and its update status; not every saved result can be rolled back.

  1. Open the Results tab in the main window and double-click the saved result you want to view.

  2. If missing, right-click the list and check the period filter and hide-rolled-back option. Choose all results to find older calculations.

  3. Before rollback, check the opened result’s saved name and update status.

Rollback requires a saved result that updated records or recovered stock and has not already been rolled back.

Filtering and reoptimization

To hide results with too much waste, open the waste filter in the results view. Enter the maximum percentage, choose whether to include reusable offcuts, and confirm. Clear the filter to show the hidden alternatives again. To calculate again from an existing result, select it and choose reoptimization. Before confirming, check which project will receive the data and whether to include unused pieces and stock.

The result filter has a maximum-waste percentage and an option to include reusable waste in that calculation. Clear the filter when you need to inspect all alternatives. Reoptimization offers adding to the current project or creating a new project, with separate choices for including unused pieces and unused stock; available choices depend on the operating mode.
