Troubleshooting and final checks

Work from the input and constraints toward the output.

No solution or missing pieces

  1. In the piece list on the Projects tab, check that the required rows exist. Click Start.

  2. In the start dialog, check which projects, material groups and selected pieces are included. Note any selections you need to correct before calculating again.

  3. Click Cancel to return to the main window. On the Stock tab, check the material group and available quantity. For the next calculation, choose a stock source that includes this row.

Standard-size-only or offcut-only choices can exclude other stock.

  4. Open Options → Configuration and its dimensions page. Select Cutting for lists and click OK. On the Projects tab, inspect the unplaced piece’s size.

  5. On the Stock tab, select the candidate stock and click Edit. Check trimming around its preview and whether the usable material fits the piece and kerf. Click OK to return to the list.

  6. On the Projects tab, select the unplaced piece and click Edit. Check grain direction and end angles, then click OK to return to the list.

  7. Open Library → Devices and select the device. Check minimum cut width, enabled maximum lengths, stage limit and whether trimming counts. Click OK to return to the main window.

  8. Open Library → Material groups, select the piece’s material group and click Edit. Check rotation, mirroring and the assigned device. Save with OK and close the material-group list.

Correct physical settings only when they disagree with the actual job.

  9. If inputs and device limits are feasible, open search profiles from Options. Copy an enabled profile used for this calculation and change one relevant limit on its limits page.

  10. Click OK to save the profile, then click Start. Correct the project, material-group, piece and stock choices you noted, and click OK to calculate. In the first tab below the layout preview, compare placed and unplaced quantities.

Unexpected quantities or output

  • After an import mismatch, reopen the source file through the import wizard and inspect the first/last rows, column selectors and ignore-error-rows option. Compare the source quantity total with the destination list before importing again, so an attempted correction does not add duplicate records.
  • For different dimensions, open Configuration’s dimensions page and compare the unit and list-display mode. Follow the dimensions topic to compare the same piece as Gross, Net or Cutting. If you use the editor’s Gross/Net selector, accept recalculation when asked to preserve the piece size; that selector is not available for every material group.
  • If printing is unavailable, wait for calculation to stop and select a result. If the print dialog opens, inspect its printer selector. If the action remains unavailable or no suitable printer is listed, check the printer in Windows and install it or restore its availability before trying again.
  • For overflowing labels, click the configuration button in the label-print dialog. Inspect page margins and the labels page's grid, dimensions, gaps and internal margins. Reduce optional content or its text size, click Apply and inspect the preview. Click OK to close configuration, then print a small test from the label-print dialog.
  • If inventory appears unchanged, open the saved result from the main window's results list and inspect its update status. Compare the acceptance choices with the stock-update dependencies in the results topic. Recalculation alone does not update inventory; do not repeat acceptance merely to test whether quantities change.

Production handoff

Before releasing a job, check material and thickness, piece quantities, dimensions and orientation, device constraints, remaining pieces, reusable offcuts and the output destination. Retain the result name and associated exported files so the workshop can identify the calculation used.
